We all have worries and fears about something. It’s part of being human. Still, worry and doubt doesn’t have to dominate our lives.
It doesn’t have to be the root of marital problems.
When I meet with couples over Zoom or in person, I can tell almost immediately when someone struggles with anxiety and worry. It’s all over their face. It’s all over our spouse’s face.
What many people don’t realize is that their own insecurities and fears are often the root of a problem that wouldn’t exist if the doubt and fear were absent.
When we live in fear, we often create the very thing we are afraid of.
Here’s the thing about fear, anxiety, and doubt —- they go together.
You can’t separate them from one another.

In Christ.

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus reminded us that worry, anxiety, and fear are the opposite of faith. He tells us the solution is to seek first the Kingdom of God.
When we worry, it’s about us.
When we seek God, it’s about Him.
Doubt and anxiety is about “me” and the outcomes “I” want.
Seeking God is about giving our fears to Him, releasing control, and allowing Him to fulfill His purpose and Will for our lives.
When you feel this coming on, stop and pray. If your with your spouse when it happens, ask him or her to stop and pray with you.
Prayer solves a multitude of problems.
